Here's a number that should worry every enterprise AI leader:
AI can currently access only about 45% of enterprise data on average.
And we're asking AI agents to make decisions.
MIT Technology Review Insights found that 55% of executives say their current data systems actively prevent them from scaling agentic AI.
This is why I keep coming back to a simple idea:
AI transformation is increasingly a data architecture problem.
If your data is:
• fragmented
• duplicated
• stale
• poorly governed
• inaccessible
• missing business context
...your agent isn't going to magically fix it.
It will simply automate the consequences.
The next generation of AI-ready enterprises will invest heavily in:
data quality + lineage + context + access + MDM.
Because autonomous AI needs trustworthy context—not just more compute.
