Last week at the GDG Mississauga Tech Mixer, we had the pleasure of hearing Parasar Saha (Founder, Digy4 ) share his hard-earned lessons on building and scaling globally.
Some key insights that really stood out:
💡 Founder-led sales is gold — don’t rush to hire expensive sales teams early. Start with your network, leverage partners, and stay close to your customers to learn from feedback and rejections.
💡 Enterprise sales is a long game — conversion rates are only 1–2%, which means persistence, speed, and multiple follow-ups are critical. Deals are won through trust, relationships, and showing up in person.
💡 Global expansion requires strategy — choose markets where you already have a presence, leverage government programs like EDC/Trade Commission, and always build trust locally (“glocal” approach).
💡 Customer proof beats discounts — Customer testimonials are worth more than discounts — social proof drives credibility.
đź’ˇ Team & Growth - Hire for energy and communication skills, not just technical knowledge.
His message was clear: be scrappy, stay close to your customers, and let data and discipline drive your growth.
Huge appreciation to the GDG Mississauga Mississauga team (John Quien, Rucha Acharya, Jashanpreet Kaur, Dhaval Thakur), IDEA Mississauga (Tej Khachh, P.Eng ,Alieu Jallow, PMP®, CSBS.D ) and Google Developer Groups (GDG) - Junnet Ali for helping put this together and making this a success.
This was an inspiring and practical session for anyone building a startup or scaling sales.
